Kontron has announced a new Thin Mini-ITX Motherboard with Intel Atom E39xx und Celeron N3350 CPUs based on the new Intel Apollo Lake processor generation. The extremely efficient mITX-APL boards deliver improved performance and extended functionality. Their very low power consumption and low installation height of only 2.5 cm make the new Kontron boards an ideal solution for point-of-sale or point-of-information scenarios, medical technology, and industrial automation. Digital signage solutions and other innovative devices benefit from the newest Kontron mITX motherboard generation as well.
Developed specifically for industrial application, the Kontron mITX-APL embedded motherboard offers improved graphics and processing performance at a low power consumption of only 6 to 12 W. Thanks to its comprehensive range of interfaces and compact size, it is specifically suitable for IoT applications in production and other demanding environments. The long-term availability of all mITX-APL components is a feature of all Kontron embedded solutions, which is an important factor, especially in highly complex application scenarios with parallel operation of many devices. The mITX-APL includes LVDS 24-bit dual-channel and two display port 1.2 interfaces, a SO-DIMM DDR3L-1867 socket for up to 8 GB memory, a full-size mPCIe slot, CAN Bus, and eMMC support. To protect applications and licenses, the new embedded board is equipped with a TPM 2.0 chip. It is available in two versions with an Intel Atom E39xx processor as well as Celeron N3350 CPU.
