Google, earlier this month hired Injong Rhee -- the former Chief Technology Officer at Samsung Electronics. Rhee informed via a Linkedin post on Monday that, at Google, he will be leading the company's Internet of Things (IoT) business. Alongside giving an insight about his designation and nature of work that he will take forward at Google, Rhee also informed about the experience at Samsung where he served as the Chief Technology Officer and also headed the software and services' research and development team.

Injong Rhee will be a part of Google's IoT team, he informed via the post. Rhee also informed that he will serve as entrepreneur-in-residence and report to Diane Greene, who's the Chief Executive of the cloud computing group, Google's cloud computing group basically focuses at selling software and hardware to other businesses.

In the post he mentioned, "I am thrilled and excited to tell you that I have joined Google as an EIR (Entrepreneur-In-Residence) to lead their IoT business. I will be reporting to Diane Greene, CEO of Google Cloud and board member of Google's parent company - Alphabet." Furthermore, Jane Hynes, a spokeswoman at Google also confirmed the news of hiring Rhee by Google's cloud computing unit.

Explaining the nature of his work at Google, Rhee notes, "One of the first things I would like to do with my Google colleagues is to get these efforts coordinated and aligned toward a concerted IoT story of Google -- in the process, create distinct consumer and enterprise product lines. With support from Diane and the other members of the leadership team, I hope to grow Google IoT into a sustainable and profitable business line."

He also talked about his six years journey at Samsung. Rhee informed that he left Samsung in the month of December. Further talking about his nature of work at Samsung he notes, "My adventures at Samsung with many talented colleagues enabled me to create and be part of several groundbreaking product launches. While I will always cherish my time at Samsung, it is time to embark on my next adventure."

To recall, as a part of Samsung, Injong Rhee was involved in the launch of the company's Knox security system, Bixby digital assistant and Samsung Pay mobile wallet. – India Today
