Asus will launch the Zenfone 5 Lite smartphone at the upcoming MWC 2018 event. Ahead of the launch event, a render of the smartphone has surfaced online along with some key specifications. The Zenfone 5 Lite will arrive with quad cameras and the trendy 18:9 display on the front. Also, it will be the Lite version of the entire Zenfone 5 series, or if Asus goes by its weird naming convention, the phone will succeed the Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite. Asus will also release several other phones in the Zenfone 5 lineup at the launch event.
Talking about the Zenfone 5 Lite, the render shows the smartphone in white colour, but expect the device in other colour options as well such as Black and Red. The smartphone will flaunt an 18:9 display on the front, but the screen size remains unknown at the moment. Screen size anywhere between 5.7-inch and 5.9-inch is an obvious thing here.
To the top of the display, there are two cameras coupled with an LED flash and sensors. Asus might go with on-screen navigation keys with the entire Zenfone 5 series. Also, at the rear, we get dual cameras and an LED flash to accompany them. There’s a fingerprint scanner as well below the rear camera module.
This news is revealed by the popular tipster Evan Blass, and as per him, Asus will add 2 x 20MP selfie and 2 x 16MP rear cameras. However, we don’t think so Asus will add two 20MP sensors and two 16MP sensors on a Lite smartphone. Maybe Blass is referring to a 20MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary camera on the front, and the 16MP primary sensor at the back followed by a 2MP secondary camera. The secondary camera might act as a depth sensor over here to add depth to the images.
Rest of the specifications are unknown at the moment. But Asus has already confirmed that the entire Zenfone 5 lineup will have Snapdragon chipsets. The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite might arrive with the Snapdragon 450 SoC, which will be a good choice for the device. Asus has already confirmed the launch date as February 28. – Telecom Info
