Vodafone India has planned to make massive investments in its network in the next 1 year, and sees data as the next big opportunity. Through this, Vodafone expanded its 4G spectrum holdings to 17 circles, narrowing the gap with market leader Airtel and newcomer Reliance Jio Infocomm. Vodafone is rolling out networks and executing them as per aggressive targets planned by the company. The telco would gun for 4G roll out In India on the back of recently-acquired airwaves after aggressive bidding. Vodafone recently pumped in 47,700 crore of fresh equity to clean up the Indian arm's balance sheet and fund the business expansion and spectrum purchases. Vodafone India paid the most in the recent spectrum auctions, acquiring airwaves across the 1800, 2100, and 2500 MHz bands in all its key telecom circles for 20,280 crore, of which it recently paid 10,100 crore to the government as upfront payment.
