Vodafone has given the contract for constructing and expanding its 4G services in India to Ericsson. This is a valuable project and it will be a positive for Ericsson to get a huge project at once in a demand market. 4G services have become common in India and every cellular network wants to provide LTE services at lower costs after the entry of Reliance Jio into the telecom market.

Vodafone has handed over the 4G services contract for UP West, Rajasthan, Odisha, North-East, and Assam telecom zones. The deployment of 4G LTE network is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2017. Ericsson, under this contract, is deploying its full radio system portfolio that offers 50 percent improved energy efficiency.

Vodafone India has given network rollout contracts for all its 4G circles, including a 4G LTE deployment and expansion deal worth 3650 crore to Nokia covering 10 circles and a similar contract to Huawei in Karnataka, Kerala, and Delhi circles. Vodafone has also awarded a multi-year managed services contract worth 1420 crore to Nokia, covering several telecom circles.
