Last month, Vodafone debuted 4G VoLTE in Gujarat, and now the telecom operator has started rolling out the service across Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Gujarat (Ahmedabad and Surat). In a press release, the telecom operator also mentioned that the service will next be launched in Kolkata and Karnataka, followed by pan-India rollout in the next few months.

Announcing the launch 4G VoLTE service, Sunil Sood, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone India, said, “In line with our commitment to introduce the best of breed technologies and consistently enhance customer experience, we are delighted to launch our VoLTE service across our three key circles of Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Gujarat. Vodafone VoLTE will empower our customers to enjoy seamless connectivity of a higher level, enabling them to explore newer possibilities with their smart devices. We have consistently invested in building, a robust and future fit data strong network, pan India. We will be expanding the Vodafone VoLTE experience in several more circles shortly.”

Existing Vodafone users can access 4G VoLTE services at no additional cost, and calls will be charged as per your existing billing plan. To avail the 4G VoLTE service, you will need a Vodafone 4G SIM card and a compatible smartphone. A lot of Android smartphones sold today, including the affordable ones under Rs 7,000 also support 4G VoLTE connectivity option. – BGR
