SPOT (Secure Payment Omni-Digital Transactions) Forum, an independent platform that aims at bringing together security, risk, and fraud management professionals from the entire payments and merchants ecosystem in India to discuss, debate, and evaluate digital payment security strategies and technologies, whilst exploring the challenges from frauds, was held for the first time on November 29, 2017 at Sofitel BKC – Mumbai.
The event received an overwhelming response, with a packed house that translated into a gathering of over 200 delegates, more than 40 industry leaders as speakers and over 25 partners.
Several prominent payment industry leaders participated at the Forum, including Kaushik Barai, chief manager IT at Bank of India, Rajendra Mhalsekar, head corporate banking technology at Yes Bank, Shankar Jadhav, chief strategy officer at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Rajendra Bhalerao, CISO at NPCI, Ansuman Behera, director software development, risk platform at PayPal, Shivakumar Sriraman, chief risk officer India and South Asia, VISA etc.
The merchants ecosystem was also represented with the presence of Garrett Goff, director of global payments, fraud, analytics at Netflix, Shariq Plasticwala, director, payments issuance business at Amazon, Maneesh Mittal, head ecommerce and big data at Croma, Yash Dayal, director engineering at Jabong, Abhishek Gupta, director, product management, payments at Freecharge etc.
A wide range of topics were discussed over five different panel discussions, with the forum providing a diverse agenda and covering a range of topics including current state of digital payment security, payment security strategies, and technologies, fighting payment fraud through data analytics and machine learning, blockchain etc.
Interesting presentations were also made on analytics for uncovering risk and fraud, post-breach fraud mitigation techniques, secure and easy transactions through biometrics, datalakes approach for fraud prevention, reg tech.
